About Us

Welcome to Christ Gospel Church of LaPorte Inc. We are located in Laporte, Indiana. We are diverse church family where spiritual growth is emphasized, and where our desire is to be more like Jesus every day.

You'll find us to be a sincere group of Christians who want to live Christ-centered lives, and who worship Him with exuberance. You might see us outwardly demonstrating our love for Him in ways like lifting our hands and praying and interceding out loud. Feel free to join us or to silently adore His Name.

Yes, we are a little different than some churches, because we really get down to the business in learning and worshipping with freedom of expression. Perhaps you are looking for a church where you may openly express your love for the Savior.

We would love to have you visit us. A schedule of services is listed on our home page. We go al-out to make you feel right at home., May the LORD richly bless you.

Beliefs

Divine Inspiration of the Scriptures

That the Bible is the Holy, Inspired Word of God to man. It is infallible, authoritative and is the rule of faith and conduct for all Christian life. It sufficient and meets every need of mankind both spiritually and naturally (II Timothy 3:15-17; I Thessalonians 2:13: II Peter 1:21).

Salvation

All mankind are born sinners. Sin entered mankind through disobedience of one man (Adam male and Female Romans 5:12). Not only are mankind sinners by birth, but also by deed (Romans 3:23; Romans 3:10; Isaiah 53:6; Ecclesiastes 7:20; Psalms 51:5, Psalm 58:2). Therefore, all are in need of a saviour or salvation, for God has said the penalty for sin is eternal death in hell and the lake of fire (Romans 6:23, John 3:17, 18).

Salvation is received through confession, repentance of our sins and believing on the Lord Jesus Christ in the heart (Romans 10:9, 10; Ephesians 2;8, Titus 2:11). Salvation is not earned by any good works of man, but is a gift received by faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ on Calvery’s cross (Titus 3:5-7).

The Godhead

There is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4), but out of that one fountainhead flows a threefold stream of revelation called The Father, The Word and The Holy Ghost (John 5:7, John 1:1, 2; Isaiah 48:16, 17; John 10:30).

That Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of God (John 3:16)

He was conceived by the Holy Ghost in the womb of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:27-35). At the end of 3 1/2 years of ministry in which He went about doing good, healing all that were oppressed, raiding the and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. He was delivered up to be crucified, not for his own sins but for the sins of the whole world. God raised Him from the dead on the third day (Acts 10:39-40; Romans 1:3-4). He ever lives at the right hand of God and making intercession for us (Hebrews 7:25; Acts 28:19, 20).

Water Baptism

Those who confess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are commanded to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38; 8:12; 9:18; 19:5; Matthew 28:19, 20).

Baptism of the Holy Ghost

The Baptism is promised to all believers (Acts 2:38). The evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost is the experience of speaking in a tongue not learned.  This language is given by the Holy Ghost in order to praise God more perfectly (Acts 1:4, 11). After the initial experience there are many infillings of the Spirit. This gift is for our help in Christian Growth.

Spiritual Growth

God has commanded that believers grow in grace and knowledge on the Lord Jesus Christ (I Peter 2:1, 2; II Peter 3:18). The WORD commands we grow in the measure of the Stature of Jesus Christ to full maturity (Ephesians 4:13, 14). The Old Testament Tabernacle is a picture of the stature of Jesus Christ and thereby becomes a pattern for all believers to follow as they seek to grow to spiritual maturity (II Timothy 3:15-17; Ephesians 4:11-14).
